Daredevil: Born Again came out in 1986, when US mainstream comics were changing in ways that now are either taken for granted or now look a bit antiquated (so much story in so few pages!). Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli were making their mark. But does their storytelling style hold up 33 years later? How does it look alongside Miller’s contemporaneous The Dark Knight Returns? Koom and Rob discuss this classic story arc from Daredevil #226-233.

This was my first episode! I think Koom is the one doing most of the interview questions? Rob refers to a career somewhat contemporaneous with Miller; but I can’t place his voice and there isn’t any more detail beyond the name. Who is Rob? What are some of his books?
Hi Jason! Glad to have you listening.
I don’t know Rob personally, but I found that he does have a brief Wikipedia entry:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Walton_(comics)
And yes, he’s a friend of Koom. They both live in Toronto – I (Tim) am in Tokyo.
This episode was more of a book review episode, but Koom did full-on interview Rob in another episode: https://deconstructingcomics.com/?p=6467
