Ah, I had not caught this podcast the first time around. Thank you for paying such attention to my book.
To answer questions that arose in the podcast (and which you may since have long settled): yes, there were 24 Hour Comics Day Highlights books for 2004 and 2005. However, there have been none since the ’06 one you reviewed, although the 24 Hour Comics Day event itself has, of course, continued and grown.
Many 24 hour comics day events are held in comic shops, but it’s not a matter of verifying the 24 hour nature. This isn’t a contest, it’s a challenge, and if you’re “cheating”, the only one you’re cheating on is yourself. Working at an event location gives the artists the advantage of shared access to food and tools… and most important to camaraderie. Fellows who are going through the same thing are quite useful at 3 AM.
